Islamic Philosophy:-

The idea of 'Islamic Philosophy' is a contradiction in terms; an oxymoron, since philosophy is based upon the FREEDOM of thought and reasoning while orthodox Islam PROHIBITS both of them.

Whatever philosophy was produced under Muhammadan Islam, it was created by 'Secular Muslim' thinkers who did so against very dangerous odds; this philosophy evolved not because of 'Islam' but in spite of 'Islam'.

Muhammadan Muslim Traditionists have always been hostile to philosophy which - in their perception - invariably leads to doubt, to questioning and hence to heresy and disbelief.

***In fact the word PHILOSOPHY has no counterpart in the Arabic of the Quran or     Hadiths ***
